Two East Midlands trains collided near Bedford today. One from Corby, one from Nottingham, both heading to London St Pancras.Â
The rear one hit the train in front after it had stopped, around 5:15pm.
Passengers said it felt like a bomb going off. Smoke, people thrown from seats, blood everywhere. They had to get out through damaged doors in the middle of the chaos. One person confirmed dead so far, dozens injured including 11 very serious cases. It's been declared a major incident. Air ambulances, fire, police and paramedics all turned up fast. The line's shut and hospitals are dealing with it.
